Geist Half Marathon Inc. organizers announced today that five schools were granted moneys from the Geist Half Marathon Grant Program totaling $8,592 to fund health and wellness initiatives in Geist area schools. This brings the total disbursement from the 2012 running of the St.Vincent Geist Half Marathon Presented by Comcast to $68,592.
Riverside Junior High ($1,900), Gambold Preparatory Magnet High ($1,692), Girls on the Run of Hamilton County ($2,000), St. Simon the Apostle School ($2,000) and Charles Tindley, EdPower School ($1,000) were all named beneficiaries from the Geist Half Marathon Grant Program.
“There are some exciting health and wellness programs being developed and we are happy to fund them,” said Matt Troyer, president and board member of the Geist Half Marathon.
